Staying at an OFCA member Bed & Breakfast or Vacation Farm

MEALS

Every host has his/her own specialties when it comes to preparing meals for guests.
Home cooked meals featuring fresh vegetables, preserves and home baking are served in a friendly atmosphere.
For those with allergies, most cooks are flexible, but prefer to be told of special needs before guests arrive.
Meals are often served with the hosts or other guests.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Accommodations vary as does the uniqueness of each host home and property size.
Bathroom facilities may be shared, private or ensuite.
Hot tubs, Jacuzzis, swimming pools or natural swimming areas amy also be available. Please check the individual property listings.

ACTIVITIES

Activities vary from host to host, area to area, season to season.
Various hosts offer horseback riding or other opportunities such as feeding a baby calf or gathering the eggs. Sometimes guests are welcome to help with daily feeding, milking or seasonal work such as haying, harvesting or gardening.
Sports on the property, such as swimming, fishing, horseback riding, hunting and skiing, are specified in the individual listings.
Inquire as to any special interests you may have.

SUGGESTIONS TO OUR GUESTS

Make arrangements directly with the farm of your choice, as early as possible, and promptly send your deposit.
Offer to settle your account shortly after you arrive at the farm.

Take along old clothes, extra shoes and boots.

Plan projects in case of rainy weather.

Instruct your children to wipe their feet before entering the house and to wash their hands after being with the farm animals.

Help your hosts by keeping the property free of litter.

City and farm animals don't always get along.

Don't forget your camera!

Don't smoke in the barn or other farm buildings.
